ANNUITIESPlatinum Series Fixed Indexed AnnuitySAFETY WITH DIVERSITY OF CHOICESaving wisely for the future requires diversity. Traditional savings plans may guarantee principle and a fixed rate of return, while investments such as mutual funds offer greater potential returns but also carry more risk. A fixed indexed annuity may be a solution for part of your safe money because your initial deposit is guaranteed when held to term, indexed linked earnings are "locked in", there's growth potential and tax deferral advantages. Why A Sagicor Life Platinum Fixed Indexed Annuity?
Interest Crediting StrategiesSagicor Life is introducing a new generation of indexed linked annuity products. Instead of using a single index as the basis for its indexed interest, the Platinum Series Fixed Indexed Annuity uses multiple interest crediting strategies. You have the option to allocate all or a portion of your premium to any of the interest crediting strategies offered.
Allocation DatesThere are four allocation dates each month: 1st, 8th, 15th and 22nd. The index value will be based upon the closing value of the index on the allocation date, or if the allocation date is not a business day, then on the last business day. A business day is defined as a day when the New York Stock Exchange is open. Allocation TransfersAllocation transfers among the index options are permitted at the end of the one year term for the Declared Rate Strategy and Indexed Strategy [1], and at the end of the three year term for Index Strategy [2]. Free Partial Withdrawal BenefitBeginning the second year and each year thereafter, the Owner may withdraw up to 10% of the account value without a surrender charge. If the Owner withdraws a required minimum distribution (applicable to qualified contracts) and the distribution exceeds the remaining penalty-free amount, the applicable surrender charge will not apply on the excess amount. Guaranteed Minimum Withdrawal BenefitThe contract provides a guaranteed withdrawal benefit provision beginning in the eleventh year. This means the owner may withdraw 10% of the initial deposit from the beginning of the year account value starting in the 11th year for up to 20 years, (providing no withdrawals have been taken) regardless of actual interest credited to the contract. The withdrawal benefit is also cumulative. (refer to contract for details). Checkbook FormFor added convenience a checkbook type form, processed by Sagicor Life's home office, is made available with the issuance of the contract. Surrender ChargeThe Fixed Indexed Annuity is not subject to any up front sales charge. However, during the first nine (9) years that you own your contract, there is a penalty called surrender charge that will be incurred for withdrawals in excess of the maximum free partial withdrawal amount. Surrender charge by contract year are as follows: Year 1 = 9%, Year 2 = 8%, Year 3 = 7%, Year 4 = 6%, Year 5 = 5%, Year 6 = 4%, Year 7 = 3%, Year 8 = 2%, Year 9 = 1%, Year 10 = 0%. The surrender charge does not apply in the event of the owner's death or in instances when the waiver of surrender charge rider is available. For the Fixed Indexed Annuity with 5% Bonus, the surrender charges are: Year 1 = 15%, Year 2 = 14%, Year 3 = 13%, Year 4 = 12%, Year 5 = 11%, Year 6 = 9%, Year 7 = 7%, Year 8 = 5%, Year 9 = 3%, Year 10 = 0%.
