On Saturday, May 3, 2014, both the Scottsdale and Tampa offices participated in the Arthritis Foundation’s Walk to Cure Arthritis. This annual event takes place in cities throughout the United States for the purpose of raising funds to fight the nation’s leading cause of disability. The Walk to Cure Arthritis takes place during the month of May which is also National Arthritis Awareness Month. This year, the Phoenix walk was held at the Phoenix Zoo under sunny skies while the Tampa walk took place at Al Lopez Park in heavy rainfall. The event features a three-mile course and a one-mile course for the walkers with arthritis information and activities for those in attendance.
The Scottsdale office raised $1,235, contributing to the Phoenix Chapter’s total of $190,094. The Tampa office raised $1,951 helping the Tampa Chapter raise a total of $80,049. Sagicor Life Insurance Company has been participating in the Walk to Cure Arthritis for a number of years and the event has become an annual tradition for the company.
